Ten Broeck Farm

Our Original Home

“Ten Broeck” is Dutch for “near the brook”. It is also Orintha Silva’s middle name. From the time she was a little girl, Orintha dreamed of having a horse farm and naming it Ten Broeck. The dream came true.

Ten Broeck Farm is located in the beautiful town of Pepperell, MA, less than two miles south of the Massachusetts/New Hampshire border. It is the former site of Chic-A-Tee Farm, a well known equestrian center during the 1980s. For a period of time, Chic-A-Tee was operated by the English trainer Robert Hall. We are proud to have brought the farm and the land back to a vibrant, productive life!

Ten Broeck Farm has 14 acres, which includes a 200-year-old traditional New England farmhouse, lush green paddocks, pond, two barns, outdoor arena and the largest indoor arena in the region.

Across from the entrance to the farm is conservation land set aside by the town of Pepperell and available for trail rides. The Nissitissit River – stocked with trout and very popular with fly fishermen – winds its way near the farm’s perimeter and is protected as a wildlife management area. Additional acreage that adjoins the farm is also used by our clients for their riding pleasure. It is also not unusual to see riders galloping across those same fields in a traditional fox hunt.
