Ten Broeck Farm

Meet Intern Brittany Lincoln

Brittany Lincoln, 16, eagerly took on an intern position with us at Ten Broeck Farm. Brittany, who began riding and competing at the age of 5 with event trainer Mike Caruso, was excited to have the opportunity to work with us and continue her dressage training through the winter months.

After winning many local championships, she joined the United States Pony Club when she was 7-years-old and earned her D-3 at the age of 10. Brittany trained with nationally recognized Pony Club Trainer Betsey Reeves through the Monadnock Pony Club and the Nashoba Valley Pony Club. She also trained with Stephie Baer, Advanced Level International Event Rider, at her farm in Orange, Massachusetts.

At the age of 10, Brittany decided to concentrate in dressage and began training with Sharon McCusker, USDF Gold Medalist, and USET Long-listed rider who has ridden with many top U.S. and European Dressage trainers. Under the watchful eyes of Sharon, Brittany competed at Lendon Gray’s Youth Dressage Festival where she earned Bronze medals two years in a row.

Brittany became a working student at the age of 12 for Kelli-Ann Kinney, who has been an active equestrian competitor since 1976, training and competing dressage horses through Grand Prix, as well as national Reining horses. She stayed a working student for Kelli-Ann until she was almost 14, when she moved on to being a working student for Pam Goodrich.

Pam Goodrich has been an instructor/trainer of dressage for over 30 years, and is a frequent clinician at Ten Broeck Farm. The dressage experience Brittany has gained working with Pam has been invaluable. Brittany’s horse, 14-year-old Hanovarian gelding, “Tai Pan“, with whom she competes FEI JR/YR, was purchased through Pam. Brittany has also ridden with Renate Lansburgh, Nancy Later and Olympic Gold medalist Michelle Gibson when she conducted a clinic here at Ten Broeck Farm in September 2006.

Brittany has a full competition calendar from May through August. She is looking forward to continuing her intern position and dressage training with Orintha and working student position with Pam Goodrich. Brittany is also excited about the opportunity to learn more about handling horses for breed demonstrations from Phil.

Brittany is a sophomore at Gardner High School, Gardner, MA, where she takes High Honors Classes and is on the field hockey team. She lives with her parents, Steve and Kim, and her 11-year old sisters, Meghan and Melanie.

Brittany's work ethic and great attitude are greatly appreciated by everyone at the farm.
